Buses to and from Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA)

The bus stops at Rome Ciampino Airport are all located within a short walk of the International Departures area. Buses run at 20 to 30 minute intervals throughout the day, but there are no night rides available through the three main providers.

Bus operators SIT Bus Shuttle, Rome Airport Bus and Terravision offer affordable bus transfers to and from Rome Termini, the main railway station in central Rome to both Fiumicino and Ciampino Airports. Tickets can be purchased in advance online, from ticket machines at the stops or at Fiumicino's bus terminal and at the train stations. It is also possible to buy a ticket onboard the bus from the drivers. 

Ticket prices range from 5.00 euros to about 7.00 euros for a one-way ticket for an adult. At certain times of the year discounted travel is possible, when you buy a return ticket. The return ticket could be as cheap as 9.90 euros per person. 

SIT Bus shuttle, https://www.sitbusshuttle.com/, charges 6.00 euros per person for the trip from Rome Ciampino Airport to central Rome's Termini railway station, a trip that takes about 30 minutes.

Rome Airport Bus, www.romeairportbus.com, travels also to Rome Termini at 30 minute intervals every day, charging 5.90 euros per person for the single ticket, and 9.90 euros return per person. In addition to the central Rome railway station stop, the Rome Airport Bus also halts at Ciampino's town centre, at Piazza Luigi Ritzo. Rome Termini railway station's stop for the airport bus is in Via Giovanni Giolitti.

Terravision buses leave every 20 minutes, www.terravision.eu charging 5.00 euros for the single trip. It's free to amend travel dates and passengers are permitted to take extra luggage to the one piece usually only permitted on buses.

Flixbus seems to cover practically everything else, if you want to travel to destinations other than central Rome. Tickets into Rome start from 3.00 euros per person for a single trip. There are 22 trips into central Rome every day via Flixbus, https://global.flixbus.com. Other destinations covered in Italy are Ancona, Grottammare, L'Aquila, Lanciano, Lucca, Pescara, Montecatini, Osimo and Salerno. Ticket prices start from 4.99 euros per person. Tickets must be booked and purchased in advance, online.
